Union with Scotland, 1707
Crowned bust of Queen Anne left, rev the British shield of arms within Garter, crowned, on pedestal marked AR, Lion and Unicorn supporters, 26.5mm (MI 295/108).
Extremely fine
Note There are three varieties of this, a reduced size copy of Croker’s instantly recognisable medal commemorating the Union. Medallic Illustrations does not record any of the medallets in copper rather than in silver. It is struck on a thicker flan than the silver pieces, being about 2mm thick. It is a most unusual and it must be a great rarity
