Charles II, Enamelled Crown-piece, 1679
The reverse of a Crown-piece, enamelled in six colours, the parent coin gilt and the lettering and other details picked out in gilt, brooch mounted.
Extremely fine.
Note: The quality of the enamelling is superb, and it suggests that it is the work of Edwin Steele of 7 Regent Parade, Birmingham. Alas the scan really does not do justice to the depth and richness of the colours.
